In the last few months of her life, I was privileged to co-teach an MLitt course with Katherine on topics in recent social epistemology. Despite her illness, she was on good form intellectually, and it was lovely to interact with her philosophically, sharing ideas and thoughts. Many of the students have been in contact with me since the news of her death to say how much they enjoyed the course and found her an inspirational teacher. That she wanted to continue teaching despite the seriousness of her health condition illustrates her positive outlook, generous nature and commitment to philosophy. I will miss her support and friendship so much, whether talking about a recent philosophical idea or sharing a Janetta’s ice cream on a hot day.
